These terms set out the agreement between you and PLAYRIOT LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”) when you use Keepscript (the “app”). They are written in plain English on purpose. If you can't read your own terms of service, they aren't doing their job.
By downloading or using Keepscript, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the app. Apple's Apple Media Services Terms also apply to your App Store download and any purchase, and they take precedence over these terms in the event of a conflict regarding the App Store transaction.
Keepscript is an on-device recorder and transcriber for iPhone. It records audio, transcribes it to text with word-level timestamps, can tell speakers apart and let you name them, can generate AI summaries, and lets you search, replay, flag, and export your recordings. Keepscript is a tool for capturing and working with your own recordings. It is not a legal-records system, not a court-reporting service, and not a substitute for professional advice of any kind.
The recordings, transcripts, speaker names, summaries, and exports you create with Keepscript belong to you. We do not claim ownership of your content, we do not read it, and we do not have a copy of it — it lives on your device. We claim no license to your content beyond what the app needs to function locally on your behalf. You are responsible for your own backups.
This is the most important obligation in these terms, so we state it plainly.
If you are unsure whether you may lawfully record a particular conversation, get consent or seek legal advice before you do.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Keepscript on Apple devices that you own or control, for your own use, subject to Apple's Apple Media Services Terms. You may not redistribute, sublicense, sell, lease, rent, or reverse-engineer the app, nor attempt to defeat its purchase verification or extract its assets.
Keepscript is free to download. Keepscript Pro unlocks the Pro features (speaker diarization and recurring-speaker memory, full AI summaries, audio/video file import, unlimited groups, and transcript exports). Pro is offered as:
How billing works:
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us. To request one, open the App Store on iOS, tap your profile, tap Purchased, find Keepscript, and use Apple's “Report a Problem” link — or visit reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple's standard refund policy applies. If Apple denies a refund and you believe a genuine bug or error caused the problem, write to [email protected] and we'll do what we reasonably can.

Keepscript — its name, the Keepscript wordmark and the “Cuepoint” playhead mark, its visual identity, its copy, and its code — is owned by PLAYRIOT LLC. “Keepscript” is a claimed trademark. You're welcome to write about the app or screenshot it for personal, non-commercial use; commercial use of the name, mark, or assets requires a separate written license from us. Your content (your recordings, transcripts, and so on) is not affected by this section — that remains yours under section 3.
Keepscript relies on Apple platform frameworks: StoreKit (purchases), SpeechAnalyzer (on-device transcription), and Foundation Models / Apple Intelligence (on-device summaries). Speaker diarization uses an on-device CoreML model (FluidAudio). Each Apple service is governed by Apple's own terms. We do not embed third-party analytics, advertising, or cloud-AI SDKs.
You agree to indemnify and hold PLAYRIOT LLC harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or damages — including reasonable attorneys' fees — arising from your use or misuse of the app, your recordings or how you obtained them, your violation of recording-consent or privacy laws, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or any third party's rights.
These terms are between you and PLAYRIOT LLC, not between you and Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. To the extent Apple bears any warranty obligation under applicable law, Apple's only responsibility (where it cannot be disclaimed) would be to refund the purchase price; any other claims relating to the app are our responsibility, not Apple's. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you in connection with your use of the app.
You may stop using Keepscript at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or terminate your license if you materially breach these terms. The sections that by their nature should survive termination — including sections 3, 9, and 11 through 18 — survive.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, unless you are a consumer entitled by your local law to a different venue, in which case that venue applies. Nothing in these terms removes any non-waivable statutory consumer rights you have under your local law.
If we materially change these terms, we will update the “Last updated” date above and surface the change in the app the next time you open it after the change takes effect. Continuing to use Keepscript after a material change means you accept the updated terms.
